John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people through his songs of pop-folk Many of them were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was raised in Roswell New Mexico. He discovered love for Colorado. He eventually made his way to Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his new home state inspired many visitors to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. In 2011, Denver was chosen as the Hall of Fame's first inductee. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to many across the globe. In all my travels I have met many individuals who do not hail from Colorado. They'll beg, "Oh John Denver!" when they hear that you're from Colorado. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working in small Folk Music Groups. The song was written by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song in conjunction with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver was introduced to an earlier version immediately, he realized the track could become an instant hit. After performing the song on stage in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver made a recording a few days later.
